Watching football with Sam

Last weekend Sam and I drove to Ohio for the Ohio State vs. Minnesota game.  He is a virtual encyclopedia of football knowledge!  Today, he stopped by with his dad to watch a little football.  He shared with me a snippet of one of his favorite NFL players Demaryius Thomas. As the clip shows a catch from the 2012 Broncos vs. Steelers playoff game, the announcer is screeching.  But, in the voiceover, Demaryius is talking about how the one person he would have liked to have seen the game was not there, his mother.  Of course, his story could not be more different...but, the emotion and feeling clearly something Sam could understand. The wave of heartache just kind of smacks you between the eyes.  He is a great kid and a nice little athlete.  I know his beautiful mother would have been his biggest and most avid fan.  Had a hard time keeping the tears in check.  He's 13!  Unreal!
