This week I went to see the movie "Bridesmaids" with a couple of friends of mine.  At the beginning of the movie there are some scenes with the bride and the maid of honor that reminded me so much of my friendship with Stephanie.  They were talking about nothing important - probably men - but it was the back and forth and the way they played off each other that was so much of what Stephanie and I had.  The conversation would get more and more silly as we went on and before long, we'd just be laughing. So, there I sat in the middle of this hilarious movie, crying and missing my buddy.

Then, today, I was watching the 25th Season Behind the Scenes of Oprah on OWN and Oprah's best friend, Gayle, was on with her.  They were talking about the the things that make them best friends and one of them really rang true.  A best friend always listens...they don't try to solve your problem or make you feel better about the problem - they just listen.  Having that person in your life is so theraputic!

Although I have many great friends now, I don't feel like I have my "Gayle" anymore.  Stephanie was always there just to listen to me and I hope that I did the same for her.  I miss having someone to call and laugh with or vent to.

Missing your friendship and your laugh, Steph.
