Hard to believe it has been 5 years

I still think of Stephanie everyday, I still try to call her at least once a week.  I can hear her laughing when my boys do something silly.  I still miss her so much.  See More

Sometimes

Sometimes something clicks,And with a tearRemembrance of the painAnd the lonelinessFlood the heart.Sometimes something clicks,And with a smileremembrance of the loveAnd the laughterFlood the senses. And there are timesWhen nothing clicks at all, And a voice echoesThrough the emptinessAnd numbnessNever finding the personWho used to fill that space. And sometimesThe most special time of all,a feeling ripples through your body, heart and soulThat tells youThat person never left youAnd she's right…See More

Mother's Day 2008

The weekend of Mother's Day 2008, Franklin and I flew to DC to spend the weekend with Steph, Sam and Mark.  It was cold and rainy that weekend but we managed to have so much fun with the boys.  We let them watch movies during the day, eat lots of fun food and just play.  Stephanie (always being so organized) had a project for the boys, paint wooden dinosaurs.  She thought this would take them hours!  Well, it took them all of 10 minutes and then they asked what can we do now?  It was hilarious!…See More

"That is so true Mom! I remember her making cakes for her coworkers at FBR and they all loved them! The best part is that they were all box cakes and everyone thought they were homemade cakes. That still just makes me laugh. Stephanie loved birthdays…"

You guys continue to amaze me. Thank you so much for putting this site together. So much of me still can't believe this happened, but I try really hard to remember all those things Mark said the night of Stephanie's service. You guys will never be far in my thoughts and truly because of Stephanie it makes me want to be a better person everyday. I'll write every so often and I am working on my story for Sam. Thank you again for sharing your sister with me. Love Trish

I know! I have some other stories for Sam brewing. I just need to write them down! Thanks so much for starting this website. I love checking in and reading the stories. I need my mom and brother to send some in as well.
Hope you are all doing well. Would love to see you guys sometime this fall/winter in Mpls or LF. -B

Hi Ann - I had so much fun with the Marshik gals last night. Wouldn't Stephanie have fit right in and had a blast with all of the clothes we were trying on at the Cabi party - even though I didn't have the chance to get to know Stephanie - as I mentioned last night, she changed my life..in how she lived hers. And it was so nice to talk to you about how Stephanie changed so many lives. And you and your family Ann, are so inspirational as well - you guys are so close - plus beautiful, fun, FUNNY, talented and smart...it was a joy to be around you, Cathy and your mom! I definitely am going to take you and the Bird up on the styling session and I will have the apps and wine ready! Thanks for sharing this site too. The photos are wonderful and so important to keep Stephanie alive through her friends and family.

Hello Ann - thanks so much for getting in touch with me! I'm sorry I didn't get to formally meet you at the wake, either. I hope that you and your family are hanging in there; I'm sure it is still so difficult. I miss Steph alot, too.

I love that you set up this website, and I have been thinking about a story for Sam - I'll post one soon, I promise. I hope that little guy is doing okay, too. My heart just breaks for him. Hopefully we can see him soon. And meanwhile we can laugh, relive memories, and read happy stories on this website!

Hi Ann,

Just wanted to say hi and let you know I am thinking about you and your family as the holidays approach. I hope you all have a nice holiday season although I know it won't be the same without Steph's huge smile there. I won't be in LF over Christmas this so I will miss the infamous Marshik/Gehant outing, and for that I am super bummed. We will be in South Africa for my sister-in-laws wedding. Please say hi to everyone as you see them over the holidays. Thanks again for setting up this site. I check it everyday to see if there is a new picture or story of Steph, plus I just like seeing her smiling face.

Love you lots,
Betsy
