Sam's plays "the best game of his life"!

Sam scored 16 points today!  I haven't posted on this site in awhile although I think of writing often-I think of it as leaving a voicemail for Stephanie.  He played his heart out for a big win!  

Tomorrow, Mark is going to the Ohio State game, I wish Sam could go with him! Hopefully he will be able to watch part of the game with us.  He is an AVID football fan!  He knows who plays where, and is a great source of facts during a game.  I have fond memories of watching games/tennis/golf on a Sunday with Stephanie and Mark when Sam was a tyke.

I've been putting together all the little notes from Stephanie, and of course, all her saved emails.  When appropriate I like to share it with Sam.  I treasured the few notes and letters I had from my father-his distinctive handwriting and great advice made me feel his presence in my life.  But, the timing has to be perfect.  This Christmas, I hung up all the past Christmas cards-one year I put them up in our old house to decorate for Christmas.  I just left them up. I got them out and Mark (who rarely comments on anything said, "Mom, why don't you leave them up?"  I think Eloise(it could have been Maren) pointed to Stephanie and asked who it was. Mark said, "That's Sam's mom."  The next comment was "she is so pretty!" There was one of those breathtaking pauses-then, "Yes, she certainly was..."
