Stephanie and I met during her Investment Banking career at FBR. I was the veteran, she was the rookie. I was married, she was single. I was from the Northeast, she from the Midwest. I had brothers, she had sisters, but none of those differences mattered. We became fast friends. Looking back I think our differences were what drew us together. Plus we both had the ability not only to laugh at ourselves, but we could laugh at the insanity that was going on around us.
One of my favorite memories with Stephanie was a time she and I went out after work. I don't remember the occasion, but she insisted we go which was unusual for me because I had two toddlers and demanding husband at home. Anyway we went to dinner and for me it was just nice to be out. After dinner we sat in front of her house on Veazy Street and sang Neil Diamond songs as loud as loud could be in my Taurus station wagon. When the CD got to Forever in Blue Jeans, we both agreed certainly not one of Neil's better hits, but none the less one of our favorites and we cranked it up and sung even louder! Truly one of my favorite memories. I'm glad we were friends.
